Plan on how to move surface/ground waters away from the pool or choose a location that isn’t the lowest point in your garden. Remember you’re building an outdoor pool and not a pond. Ensure that you surround your pool with good drainage channels.

Decorative stones symbolizes beach and summer. It can also help create a Zen space around your inground or outdoor pool to highlight delicate lines.

Use natural stones such as:

LIMESTONE: This natural stone can be used for both interior and exterior cladding because of its durability and beauty. It is a sedimentary rock formed in warm, shallow marine waters.
GRANITE: This natural stone can be used in pool pavings because it creates an elegant look with its natural shine and water resistance properties. Flamed or aged finishes are perfect for swimming pools due to its slip resistant feature. It is a type of hard, compact igneous rock formed by quartz, feldspar and mica. It is an ideal material for construction and decoration due to its flecked and sparkling appearance and toughness.
QUARTZITE: This natural stone has a common tone that is either beige, pink or green. Quartzite a perfect choice for swimming pool floors too! These are metamorphic rocks formed of grains of quartz and are commonly a whitish color.
GNEISS: This natural stone has shades of beige and grey combined with lighter tones. This can add a radiant touch to pool edges and add authenticity and character to your pool area.
TRAVERTINE: This natural stone is usually cream-colored and formed by deposits of calcium carbonate. Used as an ornamental stone as well.
